Foreign Language Enhancement Program (FLEP)
The CIC FLEP provides scholarships to help graduate students take advantage of summer intensive language offerings not available at the University of Minnesota, but available at other partnering CIC member universities. CLA makes available 10 FLEP scholarships each summer for graduate students who whose academic home is in CLA for summer intensive language study of a less-commonly-taught language at partnering CIC institutions.
Funding available for CLA Graduate Students:
Summer 2007: $2500 stipend + tuition remission for 1 cr. in
CIC Traveling Scholar Program
Eligibility:
FLEP Scholarship applicants must be degree-seeking students in good standing enrolled in a CLA departmental or interdepartmental major. Study must be taken at any other participating CIC institution (http://carla.umn.edu/lctl/). FLEP scholarships may not be used for study at the University of Minnesota and must be used for a credit bearing less-commonly-taught language course. FLEP recipients may also apply to the CIC Traveling Scholar program which enables graduate students to pay tuition and fees at their home institution while attending another CIC University.
